Dr. Kenneth Kaunda |
The International University of Africa in Sudan is this year scheduled to honor Zambia’s first President Dr. Kenneth Kaunda for his positive contribution towards the liberation of Africa.
International University of Africa Director of External Affairs, Tagjadin Beihin Nia says Dr. Kaunda’s role in the liberation of Zambia and some African states is a legacy that will live on and can never be deleted.
Professor Niam says it is important for Africa to honor leaders that have left an indelible mark on the continent while they are still alive.
He said the board of the senate decided to honor Dr. Kaunda owing to his contribution to the liberation struggle and his current pursuit of an AIDS- free continent.
Professor Niam said this when Zambia’s Ambassador to Ethiopia Susan Sikaneta who is also Ambassador Extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Zambia to the Sudan, paid a courtesy call on him.
And Ms. Sikaneta thanked the University for its decision to honor Dr. Kaunda.
