The Qatari Minister for Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Abdul Rahaman Al Thani, arrived in Khartoum on Saturday on a two day state visit to the Sudan during which he will deliver a written message to the President of the Republic Omar Bashir, from Sheikh Tamain Bin Hamad, the Emir of the state of Qatar
Sheikh Mohamed Bin Abdul Rahaman, the Qatari Deputy Prime Minister, was
received at the airport by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Professor
Ibrahim Ghandour.
Professor Ghandour said in press statements that the visit of the Qatari minister to the country is a historic event and would boost the strategic relations between the two countries in the various domains.
Ghandour said the two sides will hold talks on Sunday dealing with bilateral relations and would exchange views on regional and international questions of mutual interests beside means of boosting relations and cementing them in a way that would serve the interest of the two sister countries.
Ghandour said the talks would be comprehensive and deal with dossiers related to the Sudanese Qatari relations

Ghandour said Sudan welcomes the visit of the Qatari Minister for
Foreign Relations and that he is at his home and among his people,
pointing out that the Qatari Minister is now in Charge of following up
the Doha Peace Accord on Darfur
Ghandour referred to the recent visit to Doha by the Sudanese Ambassador to Geneva, Dr Mustafa Osman Ismail, who carried a written message from President Bashir to his Qatari brother, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, dealing with bilateral relations between the two countries.
