We produce more than (80) tons of gold with our fingers and nails: Sudan's Mineral Minister

Professor Hashem Ali Salem

Sudan's Minister of Minerals Professor Hashem Ali Salem has said that the economic sanctions imposed on Sudan and deprived it from the use of modern equipment in the mineral sector did not make the Sudanese people stand idle, however, we used our fingers, hammers, nails and all primitive equipment so that we were able to produce more than (80) tons of gold from the depth of the rocks."We in Sudan do not blame anyone and the Sudanese people are patient and tolerant people. We have decided to change the painful reality with the power of our will," he said. "We have finally laid the foundation stone for our modern state and the goals of our country are not far off or impossible, we see it close to reach and can be achieved. We are confident that we can stand back on our feet). In a press statement from Canada, the minister called on investors and major companies to visit and invest in Sudan after Sudan has put in place convenient investment regulations to attract investors to work in the mining sector.
